It’s been a long minute since I came in here and wrote something. But after many false starts, I am back to rekindle the flame.
Why?
A lot can happen in 8 years. Including becoming a mother to children who can’t speak Kikuyu. I always thought that I would somehow get them to speak it naturally because their dad and I speak it all the time. Well, that only works to get them to hear and understand it.
You know, we are now raising them “Naskianga lakini siwezi ongea” peoples. 😂
Also, a quick analysis of the traffic to this site shows me many things, including the quest for Kikuyu content — which was the reason I started this blog in the first place.
So I am bringing this joint back to help myself and any fellow parents who want their kids to learn and speak Kikuyu in the Gen Alpha age. Stay tuned.
From now on, we are Gĩkũyũ for kids + parents. And we’re going beyond words and incorporating more video in this appropriate time — because anyway, you need to hear the words or tunes sometimes to remember them correctly. This has been a request for many years, especially on this post, so I had passively started creating them.
Passive ends now.
